Subaru Service Seattle, Installing a Cabin Air Filter

Replacing the cabin air filter on a modern Subaru, say 2005 and up is now a normal part of routine Subaru maintenance. The first cabin filters appeared in the early LL Bean trim levels on the second generation Outback. Those were very cumbersome to change, this actually didn’t change until the current platform models for most of the Subaru line.

 

But here is what we have observed, even though the process of changing the cabin filter has become much easier many Subaru dealers will charge around half an hour of labor to replace it. We are okay with the idea of charging some labor on the older Subaru models but not the current ones, the video below demonstrates why that is.
